Today 22 new buses have been presented, 12 of which are natural-gas driven vehicles that will start to be used in urban and interurban lines: an important investment within the scope of a modernisation plan and a continuation of methanisation project of Apam’s vehicles started last year.
All of the new buses are last generation vehicles, with Euro 6 engine, air conditioning system, air-ride, indicators of path and electronic stop. In the security equipment, a fundamental thermal detection and fire extinction system is present and in natural gas-driven buses, a gas leak detection system is also present. In addition, buses are equipped with ramp for the transport of people with disabilities.
The age of company vehicles is now 8,35, a relevant detail and sign of excellence in the Italian context (where average age is 11,4) that confirms APAM’s engagement in making its vehicles more and more environmentally friendly.
Investments for the future have already been planned: the construction of methane compression and distribution system within APAM deposit, the purchase within 2019 of 10 new buses for urban vehicle stock and 5 for interurban one and within 2020, 11 more natural gas-driven buses for urban use and 6 natural gas-driven buses for interurban routes.
